Description:
Join us as multi-award-winning TV reporter Glen Oglaza discusses his years at ITN and Sky News. Working from more than forty countries, he had a front row seat to some of the most momentous events of our time, often in the thick of the action. From Lockerbie through the miners’ strike, to the fall of the Berlin Wall and Johnson’s premiership, we see intriguing new angles and get to glimpse with him behind the headlines at some of the most memorable stories and people of our time. In his first volume - "When I stories" - Glen recalls his years as senior reporter at ITN covering some of the biggest national and international stories of the 1980s and 90s. These include Lockerbie, Hillsborough, Dunblane, Thatcher and the miners' strike, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the first Gulf War and many, many others. Captivating national and global events are all given an intriguing new inside angle. As he writes, "we are in the story-telling business, the eyewitnesses to history, writing, it is said, the first draft of history". Tickets include a glass of wine or soft drink. fohleventmarch25.eventbrite.co.uk
