Insect Week 2026 runs from 22-28 June. It is a special, week-long party dedicated to learning all about bugs, creepy crawlies, and insects. This week encourages children to become "bug detectives" and explore the tiny, amazing world around us. Be inspired by learning fun facts about insects as well as enjoying a fun afternoon of Bug's craft at Stroud Green & Harringay Library.

Join us at Hornsey Library for a creative, hands-on craft session! Together we’ll be cutting, folding, sticking, and designing your very own paper wagon, also known as a vardo - the beautifully decorated traditional homes of Romany travellers.

Celebrate with us at Muswell Hill Library where we will be screening the award winning movie 'The Father' 2020 . Rated 12, runs for 94 minutes, directed by Florain Zeller and starring Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman and Mark Gatiss. An octogenerian man living with dementia refuses all assistance from his daughter as he ages. When he tries to understand what is happening around him, he begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind and even the very fabric of his reality.
The Summer Reading Challenge will launch in libraries in England on Saturday 4 July 2026.This year’s theme, Read to the Beat, encourages young readers to explore the connection between stories and songs. The challenge is open to children 4-11 (there is a Mini Challenge for the under 4’s). Are you ready to set yourself this challenge and read six books during the summer holiday? Read any six library books and collect rewards along the way.Complete the challenge and earn yourself a certificate, a medal and a chance to win a special prize at a Certificate Ceremony.You can sign up at any of the Haringey Libraries.
