Printing

Activating your library card for printing access:

Once you have signed up for a library card here, or in-person, please let a member of staff know that you want to use it for printing. You'll need to go to one of our public printers and log in (with the barcode scanner or manually via the keypad symbol) - the printer will ask you to be 'authenticated'.

To 'authenticate', you can enter your barcode number as your 'username' (eg. "5666666X") and your PIN number as your 'password'. This is a first-time setup only. Please speak to a member of staff if you run into any issues, we'll be happy to help.

How to print, photocopy or scan:

For printing, you have two options: email-to-print, or manually via our public PCs. To use our email-to-print feature, you must send an email from the email address you registered with to one of our automated inboxes. If you are unsure about the email address registered to your account, or wish to change it, please speak to a member of staff:

Your email should be a 'new email', not forwarded or shared, and the file(s) you want to print should be attached as 'copies'. At the moment, we are only accepting image files (.jpg, .png) and .pdf documents.

Once sent, you should receive a reply saying that your "your document has been held in a queue", which means that it's ready to release from a public printer. If you receive any different messages, please speak to a member of staff who can assist you.

For photocopying or scanning, simply log into the printer and press the physical square button to the right of the screen to go to the Home page, where you can see the "copy" and "scan" buttons.

The final step is to top-up your printing balance with money - if you want to pay by card you can use any library kiosk; just scan your library card under the red light and the rightmost button on the screen will be your "Printing Balance". For cash payments, you can also use an applicable Kiosk or instead pay at any library information desk. Please note, you have 24 hours to pick up your print job from any Haringey Library before it is deleted from the printer.
