Logic in Libraries: Free Music Production Software in Libraries
Mon 08/12/2025
The 'Logic in Libraries' project is enabling free access to premium music production tools on high-specification iMacs at Coombes Croft Library, Marcus Garvey Library and St Ann's Library for Haringey's highly talented musicians! In a ceremony at Marcus Garvey Library on Monday 1 December, Haringey Music Service and Haringey Libraries launched the scheme: allowing free access to industry-standard music production software at three libraries, thanks to funding provided by the Horizons charity.
Following on from the successful rollout of digital hybrid pianos across our library provision three years ago, this project is another example of the collaborative work between Haringey Libraries and the Haringey Music Service to provide beneficial facilities and services for young people.
Although the initiative is particularly aimed at young people, any Haringey library user will be able to book and use the iMacs for free with a library card, gaining access to Logic Pro and Garageband - which can be used for assisting with Music GCSEs, producing your own tracks, and just for fun.

iMac bookings can be made online here, or in-person by speaking with any member of staff. You will need a physical library card, which you can register for online here, or in-person by visiting your local library. Once you've arrived for your booking, a member of staff will assist you in logging onto the iMac.
Since these iMacs are exclusively for the use of music production software, they are not connected to the internet. Therefore, we recommend you bring a USB stick to save your projects on, as data will be wiped from the iMac in between sessions. The iMac also has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack for use with your own headphones - but the library can also lend headphones to use during your booking.
