Inside the library
Marcus Garvey Library is located in the Tottenham Green Lesiure Centre building and offers a variety of services and facilities in the heart of South Tottenham. There are regular events, including film showings, early years activities, and book readings by local and bestselling authors.
Marcus Garvey Library is named after the civil rights activist Marcus Garvey to mark what would have been his 100th birthday. The library contains his sculpted bust where beneath it is the library's foundation stone, which was laid in 1987 by his son Marcus Garvey Junior. In addition, it also houses an extensive collection of Marcus Garvey's literary works written by him and others as well as his portraits.
