Printing
Activating your library card for printing access:
Once you have signed up for a library card here, or in-person, please let a member of staff know that you want to use it for printing. You'll need to go to one of our public printers and log in (with the barcode scanner or manually via the keypad symbol) - the printer will ask you to be 'authenticated'.
To 'authenticate', you can enter your barcode number as your 'username' (eg. "5666666X") and your PIN number as your 'password'. This is a first-time setup only. Please speak to a member of staff if you run into any issues, we'll be happy to help.
How to print, photocopy or scan:
For printing, you have two options: email-to-print, or manually via our public PCs. To use our email-to-print feature, you must send an email from the email address you registered with to one of our automated inboxes. If you are unsure about the email address registered to your account, or wish to change it, please speak to a member of staff:
- Black and white: librarymonoprinting@haringey.gov.uk
- Colour: librarycolourprinting@haringey.gov.uk
Your email should be a 'new email', not forwarded or shared, and the file(s) you want to print should be attached as 'copies'. At the moment, we are only accepting image files (.jpg, .png) and .pdf documents.
Once sent, you should receive a reply saying that your "your document has been held in a queue", which means that it's ready to release from a public printer. If you receive any different messages, please speak to a member of staff who can assist you.
For photocopying or scanning, simply log into the printer and press the physical square button to the right of the screen to go to the Home page, where you can see the "copy" and "scan" buttons.
The final step is to top-up your printing balance with money - if you want to pay by card you can use any library kiosk; just scan your library card under the red light and the rightmost button on the screen will be your "Printing Balance". For cash payments, you can also use an applicable Kiosk or instead pay at any library information desk. Please note, you have 24 hours to pick up your print job from any Haringey Library before it is deleted from the printer.

Public PC Access
How to use our free Public Network PCs
All Haringey Libraries have several public PCs for use for all library members. These are limited to 2 hours per day (across all Haringey Libraries) and can be accessed easily with your library card.
When you first sit down at one of our public PCs, you can click the "Login" button. Then, you must wait about 1 minute for the login screen to appear. Here, you can enter your library card number (eg. 5666666X) as the 'username' and your 4/6-digit PIN number as the 'password'. Once logged in, you will see the Windows desktop which has many useful shortcuts to free services and programs that we offer. Additionally, a black bar will appear at the top of the screen that shows you your 2-hour timer.
Please note that when your session finishes - either by logging out manually from the black bar at the top, or whereby the 2-hour timer expires, all content within your session is deleted in the interest of data security. This means that any files or work you want to save needs to be backed up to an online storage (eg. email) or physical storage device. All of our PCs have general USB memory stick compatibility, such as regularly-formatted FAT32 USB sticks, but will struggle to read more complex or non-standard formatting types, such as USB sticks with in-built security features.
We do not offer extensions to the 2-hour limit, and you must log in with your own library card as we do not offer guest cards.
Free services on our PCs
Whilst our PCs can be freely used for most general activities, such as browsing the web, checking your emails, and watching videos, Haringey Library PCs also come with a bunch of useful links and programs that are free to use within your daily 2-hour timer.
You can find a list of services offered here, including Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher), and access to the full Which? consumer guide.
Additionally, you can send print jobs directly to the library printers from our public PCs - just have the file open (or from Edge/Chrome) and go to print it. There will be two printers you can select from - "black and white", and "colour" printer, which will print your document in the respective colour. From the Public PCs you can also send a print job in A3 size as well as A4, but please note that there are different charges for A3, colour, and other combinations.
When sending a print job for the first time in a session, it will ask you to re-authenticate your credentials with a popup from 'PaperCut'. This is normal and you should re-enter your library card number and PIN. You will finally see another popup box with the finalised price of the print job, as well as if it's in colour/black and white, and how many pages.
The final step is to top-up your printing balance with money - if you want to pay by card you can use any library kiosk; just scan your library card under the red light and the rightmost button on the screen will be your "Printing Balance". For cash payments, you can instead pay at any library information desk. Please note, you have 24 hours to pick up your print job from any Haringey Library before it is deleted from the printer.
